AUA also suspends flights to Tehran
Like Lufthansa, AUA is now also suspending flights to and from Tehran. The airline announced this in a press release on Friday.
Due to the escalation between Iran and Israel, AUA has now also decided to suspend flights up to and including Thursday, April 18, as it announced on Friday.
Contact with authorities
Long-haul routes that pass through Iranian airspace will be rerouted accordingly, according to a statement from the airline. The situation in the Middle East is being continuously evaluated and the airline is in close contact with the authorities. Previously, AUA's parent company Lufthansa had already canceled its flights to and from Tehran.
Following a suspected Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria at the beginning of April, threats from Tehran towards Israel have recently increased. In response, Israel declared that it would not leave a possible Iranian attack on its territory unanswered.
