EU summit meeting on the strategic agenda in Vienna
At a summit meeting in Vienna on Friday, Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer will discuss the EU's goals and priorities for the next five years with five other heads of state and government. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, will also take part.
Nehammer had invited to informal talks on the EU's "Strategic Agenda". "It is important to me to be at the forefront when it comes to the future of the EU and the priorities for the coming years", explained the Chancellor, who is looking forward to "productive discussions".
In addition to Council President Michel, according to information from the Federal Chancellery, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulidis have confirmed their attendance.
According to the LETA news agency, the Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina, who had also been invited, canceled her participation at short notice due to her busy schedule.
