Wout van Aert has to miss the Giro d’Italia

Two weeks after his serious crash at the "Quer durch Flandern", cycling star Wout van Aert has had to cancel his start at the Giro d'Italia! 

The 29-year-old Belgian had broken his collarbone, sternum and several ribs. On Thursday, Van Aert provided information about his state of health via social networks.

"My ribs are still a limiting factor!"
"I am happy to inform you that I am recovering well from all my injuries. But my ribs are still a limiting factor. I can't train at all at the moment," explained the Belgian.

And he added: "That's why we took the decision not to compete in the Giro d'Italia. I'm very disappointed that I'm also missing my second big goal this season." But health comes first.
