Pupils from Salzburg's HBLA Ursprung have built a self-developed biotope to protect biodiversity together with the Montessori Oberstufenrealgymnasium in Grödig.
HBLA Ursprung and the Montessori Oberstufenrealgymnasium (MORG) in Grödig have worked together on an ecology project. Pupils created a self-developed biotope on a green space between a retirement home, an elementary school and a kindergarten.
The site includes natural habitats such as lizard hotels, beetle castles, Benjes hedges and rootstocks, which are intended to make an important contribution to protecting biodiversity.
Noah Fischer, a student at HBLA Ursprung, emphasizes the creation of valuable natural structures for various animal species.
The initiative came about after a biodiversity lecture by teacher Konrad Steiner and was supported by Mayor Herbert Schober.
