Salzburger of the year
Special honor for super eagle Stefan Kraft
Big award for high-flyer Stefan Kraft. Austria's ski jumping star was named "Salzburger of the Year 2024". The 30-year-old received the award at the reception hosted by the province of Salzburg and the Salzburg Club at the Kursalon in Vienna.
The reception with around 400 guests in the Kursalon Vienna was held under the motto "World champion Salzburg. Top performances in every discipline". The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the "Salzburger of the Year" award.
This year, top athlete and ski flying world champion Stefan Kraft was awarded the "Salzburg Bull" by Governor Wilfried Haslauer and the President of Club Salzburg Peter Haubner.
"A figurehead"
"We are delighted to be able to honor particularly deserving Salzburgers. In addition to successful artists and entrepreneurs, our province is characterized by successful athletes. Stefan Kraft has been a special figurehead for our Salzburg for years and truly deserves this award. Especially in the past season, he "flew" to this award with his great performances," said the President of Club Salzburg, Peter Haubner, during the ceremony.
"This honor is only bestowed on outstanding personalities and Stefan Kraft is undoubtedly one of them. His success is based on iron discipline and, which is rather undesirable for a ski jumper, staying on the ground. A role model for us all and a motivator for the next generation of ski jumpers," said Governor Wilfried Haslauer during the laudatory speech.
