Short break from the heat
Temperatures cool down after record high
In the middle of the week, we can expect a brief drop in temperatures in Styria as well as showers in Upper Styria before the thermometer slowly climbs back to summery heights from Thursday. At the start of the weekend on Friday, highs of up to 25 degrees are again in sight.
Thanks to the summery weather, nothing has stood in the way of sunbathing or even a dip in the cool water in recent days. On the first weekend of April, the earliest hot day in Austrian measurement history since April 17, 1934 was reached in Bruck an der Mur and a temperature record was broken. On Tuesday, the summer heat continued at a high temperature level of up to 29 degrees. The sunshine will prevail once again, inviting us to enjoy another ice cream treat.
The Sahara dust, which ensured that the Schöckl was no longer visible over the Easter weekend, will return on Tuesday in a stronger form than on previous days. "High overcast clouds are moving across the country and the sky is gradually becoming slightly hazy again," reports Ubimet meteorologist Christoph Matella. However, there is still no sign of the cold front and it is still very warm for the time of year.
Wednesday as a short break in the unusual warm phase
In the night to Wednesday, the tendency for showers will increase, especially in north-western Upper Styria. It will remain dry in the rest of Styria. A brisk north-westerly wind on the mountains of Upper Styria will bring a brief cooling. On Wednesday, temperatures will only be between 10 and 18 degrees, with the highest temperatures expected in Bad Radkersburg.
The second half of the week will bring sunshine and highs again
From Thursday, the weather will be sunny again. Fewer clouds and again 16 to 22 degrees will gradually bring back the summer feeling. According to Matella, highs of up to 25 degrees are in sight again at the start of the weekend on Friday. As things stand, temperatures could even rise a little on Saturday and Sunday.
