After the difficult weeks in the league, FC Bayern will now also have to do without its fans in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against FC Arsenal. This was UEFA's reaction to the misconduct of Munich fans in the first leg of the round of 16 tie at Lazio Roma.

In mid-February, some fans set off pyrotechnics during the 1-0 defeat in Rome. A suspended sentence had already been imposed in October, which now applies to the CL match in London. According to the club, only contractually bound tickets will be distributed.

"Important support is missing"
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said at the time: "We had already made an urgent appeal to our supporters in December and asked them to refrain from any further pyro activities. The team is missing an important source of support and it is particularly hard on the fans, who always behave correctly."
