ASK Klagenfurt recently moaned in the "Krone" about the high costs in the regional league (see link below). Now "veteran" Günther Krammer is even thinking about voluntary relegation. Is a cooperation with a Bundesliga club feasible as a rescue? And: Carinthian League club St. Jakob/Ros. parted ways with coach Alex Stroj!

In sporting terms, things are going great for regional league club ASK this spring! On Sunday, Thuller's side deservedly beat Gleisdorf 2:0 thanks to a Selman brace, securing their fourth win in 2024 - and are well on their way to staying up!

"Sponsors are not liquid"
And yet they are seriously considering voluntary relegation! "It's possible, I'm not ruling anything out," emphasized veteran official Günther Krammer. The reason? "We're not doing well financially. Our sponsors are not solvent. If that doesn't change, it's going to be tough," emphasizes Krammer.

"43 paying spectators"
The equally big problem is the lack of fans. "We had 43 paying spectators against Gleisdorf - we used to have even more in the 2nd division. How is that supposed to work?"

Cooperation with Austria Klagenfurt?
In order to survive, they are now thinking about cooperations. "There are initial talks with Austria Klagenfurt," reveals Krammer. But it sounds more like it's the only way out. . .

Former Bundesliga footballer takes over
Alex Stroj could no longer be saved. The coach of Carinthian League last-placed St. akob/Rosental resigned unsurprisingly. Sporting director Andi Ogradnig has already found a new coach: former Bundesliga player Tommy Höller.

And: St. Jakob's former coach Alex Suppantschitsch famously signed for rivals Köttmannsdorf.
