Ski jumper Daniel Huber was welcomed to thunderous applause in his home town of Seekirchen with the small crystal globe for his victory in the ski flying competition. The town band played in glorious weather and many fans were in attendance. The 31-year-old was visibly moved: "It was very emotional to drive in there. I was extremely happy that so many friends, acquaintances and companions were there."

The Seekirchen native took the globe ahead of Stefan Kraft in a thrilling finish in Planica. "I didn't expect it myself. It was very surprising that it worked out like that," said Huber jubilantly.
