Horn coach Riederer: “It’s really bitter!”
After the 4-0 defeat in Dornbirn, second division side Horn bounced back: The Waldviertel side defeated Lafnitz 2-1 at home in League Two on Friday. However, coach Philipp Riederer was not really happy. The injury list is getting longer and longer...
Wimhofer suspended, Fischerauer (horse foot) and Hoffmann (torn ligament) injured: Horn had to withdraw three players against Lafnitz in League Two on Friday - but didn't let it show. Hausjell (48') and Joppich (55') set the course for the Waldviertler. Before Noah Lederer (73'), son of ÖFB Under-19 team boss Oliver, reduced the deficit for the Styrians, the game became exciting once again.
"The win is fine"
"But then we did well, stood well in defense and hardly conceded anything," said coach Philipp Rieder after the hard-fought 2:1 victory. "They had more of the game. But the bottom line is that the win is okay. We had the more compelling moments."
Meanwhile, the Waldviertel side's injury list grew. The duo of Hajdari and captain Mulahalilovic were injured in the final. Both had to be substituted. "That's really bitter. We'll see how bad it is," sighed Riederer. On a more positive note, Horn continued to perform above expectations and climbed to sixth place in the table, at least temporarily. "We're playing a very good season, we're doing great."
