What a crazy top match! Liverpool FC lost important points in the title fight with a 2-2 draw at Manchester United and have to surrender the lead in the table to Arsenal FC. The Reds led 1-0 after the first half, but Man United turned the game around to make it 2-1 before Salah equalized with a penalty in the closing stages.
Liverpool missed out on a return to the top of the English Premier League table. The Reds were held to a 2:2 (1:0) draw by arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday and are now second on 71 points behind leaders Arsenal, who are level on points. Champions Manchester City are lurking in third place with 70 points. The team of outgoing coach Jürgen Klopp had already stumbled over United in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Everything started according to plan for Liverpool. The dominant visitors took the lead after 23 minutes through Luis Diaz, but failed to convert their superiority into further goals. That was to take its revenge in the second half. After a serious mistake by Jarell Quansah, Bruno Fernandes equalized with a stroke of genius (50'), the Portuguese scoring from 45 metres to beat keeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who was standing too far in front of goal.

And United went one better in the person of Kobbie Mainoo. The 18-year-old Manchester youngster flicked the ball into the far corner from a turn (67').

But Liverpool still managed to draw level: Aaron Wan-Bissaka fouled substitute Harvey Elliott in the penalty area and Mohamed Salah converted the penalty (84'). Diaz missed the match ball for LFC (94'), while at the other end Antony was denied by Kelleher (97'). Manchester United are in sixth place with 49 points.
