Tragedy of Suzuka
“Miss you”! Emotional race for Leclerc
The Japanese Grand Prix is a particularly emotional event for Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. This is because his friend and godfather Jules Bianchi died in an accident there ten years ago. He now remembered him with an emotional message.
Leclerc posted a photo and an emotional text on Instagram ahead of the race weekend in Japan. The photo shows a Ferrari helmet, parked on the race track. "A special helmet in memory of a very special person for me," wrote the Monegasque.
"Miss you"
The helmet commemorates his friend and godfather Jules Bianchi, who died in an accident in Japan on October 5, 2014. The Frenchman lost control of his Marussia car on the wet track and slid under the rear of a parked recovery vehicle. He suffered serious head injuries and died after nine months in a coma.
"So many memories together that I will never forget. I miss you and I will do everything I can to put this helmet on the top step of the podium on Sunday," Leclerc emphasizes and is particularly motivated ahead of the emotional race.
