Houses damaged: Tornado suspected in Germany
Dozens of houses were damaged near Mönchengladbach in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Thursday. According to a fire department spokesperson, who also witnessed the weather phenomenon, a tornado is suspected to be the cause.
Around 20 houses were damaged in Korschenbroich. One house roof was even completely covered. According to the police, there were no reports of injuries.

A spokesman for the Korschenbroich fire department said that it was suspected that the weather phenomenon was a tornado - but he could not confirm this. There are no reports yet on the extent of the damage.
Experts will examine images
The German Weather Service was also unable to confirm on Friday morning what exactly the weather phenomenon was. Experts would first have to analyze images.
