Gymnastics title fights
“We’re cheering Charlize on at the Olympics in Paris”
Sisters Alissa (21), Charlize (18) and Collien (17) Mörz are competing at the national championships in Dornbirn this weekend. The Mattersburg athletes are certainly good for medals again. Last year they won team gold, among other things.
When Charlize recently secured the coveted Olympic artistic gymnastics ticket for the summer, everyone was delighted. "She simply has the talent for it," smiles Alissa. The Mattersburg athlete knows how difficult it is to qualify in an individual discipline - in this case on the floor. "The plane tickets for Paris are booked, we're cheering Charlize on."
"Pain is not completely gone"
Alissa herself has been able to train fully again for three weeks and put full weight on her foot: "The pain isn't completely gone, but it's okay." She is looking forward to once again competing in an all-around competition at the national championships in Dornbirn on Saturday. "I want to perform well - it's also our first European Championship qualification."
Defending the title
Sister Charlize also wants to do well in the all-around: "I've only been doing all the exercises again for two weeks now and had previously concentrated on the floor. I definitely want to defend my title. We also have a very good chance in the team again." Alissa, Charlize and Collien and their teammate Kathi Gschiel will be defending their titles.
