Witness comes forward
Missing girl from Serbia could be in Vienna
An almost two-year-old girl from Serbia has been missing since last Tuesday. Now a man has come forward who said he may have seen the toddler at a streetcar stop in Vienna. He was informed about the missing person case via social media.
The girl disappeared a week ago in the village of Banjsko Polje near the town of Bor in an unobserved moment from the garden of her parents' weekend home. A large-scale search and investigation have so far been unsuccessful. A wanted notice with a photo has now been published on the Interpol website . According to the photo, Danka will be two years old in June, she has brown hair and a birthmark on her left upper arm. The girl is about 85 centimeters tall.
Authorities informed
Now there could be a lead to Vienna. The Serbian authorities have reported that a Serb living in Vienna may have seen the one-year-old in the city center on Saturday evening. She had been accompanied by two women who spoke Romanian. The witness had initially contacted the Serbian authorities and informed them of his observation. They then contacted the Vienna police with a request for an investigation.
Video secured
The man was then questioned and a video he had recorded of the incident was secured. It is currently being investigated whether it is actually the missing little Serbian girl. There are no further clues as yet, said police spokesman Markus Dittrich.
