Missing from the ÖFB team
Zadrazil and Naschenweng missing against Germany
Austria's women's soccer team will be without two key players in their European Championship qualifier against Germany in Linz on Friday. Bayern Munich's Sarah Zadrazil (muscle injury) is out, as is her club colleague Katharina Naschenweng, who had to be substituted with a leg injury in the Cup semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
A diagnosis is expected on Tuesday. The duo will also miss the match against Poland on April 9 in Gdynia.
Wienroither moves up
Team manager Irene Fuhrmann nominated Michela Croatto (Leipzig) and Laura Wienroither (Arsenal). For Wienroither, it is her return to the national team after almost a year out due to injury. "We need all our key players, especially against a top team like Germany. In this respect, it is now important to compensate for the absences in the best possible way," said Fuhrmann, who is preparing for the start of the European Championship qualifiers with the squad in Windischgarsten from Tuesday. Almost 6,000 tickets have been sold for the match against Germany so far.
