King Charles is back! The British King attended the Easter Mass at Windsor Castle at midday on Sunday and was celebrated frenetically. It was the 75-year-old's first official appearance since he made his cancer public. However, Prince William and his wife Princess Kate, who also has cancer, will be absent this Sunday.

Before Easter Mass, which is traditionally celebrated by the royals in St. Gerogs Chapel at Windsor Castle, Charles appeared in good spirits and waved to the waiting photographers and royal fans, wishing them a "Happy Easter".

A slimmed-down Easter for Charles
It is the monarch's first major public appearance since it became known that Charles had cancer, and is therefore probably a small ray of hope for many Britons. And yet many things are different this Easter.

Due to precautionary measures, it will be a slimmed-down celebration for Charles this year. This year, the 75-year-old did not lead his family to the chapel on foot as usual.

Instead, Charles and Camilla were taken to St. George's Chapel in a Bentley. The other family members, such as Princess Anne and Prince Edward, also arrived by car.

Finally, another security measure also affected the Easter Mass. The royal couple sat separately from the Royal Family in the chapel, as the Telegraph reported in advance. The King also decided not to have the traditional lunch with the Royal Family this year.

Charles took time for Royal fans
However, Charles did not want to miss out on taking time for the waiting Royal fans. After the Easter service, the King shook hands and chatted with the onlookers at Windsor Castle, who celebrated their monarch's comeback frenetically.

"Charles looked like he was really enjoying being back with his loyal fans and partly back at work," Judi James, body language expert, told the Daily Mail.

Missing Kate and William
Prince William and Princess Kate, who normally attend the Easter service with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will also be particularly sorely missed this year.

The Princess of Wales only made her cancer public in an emotional clip last week. It is not yet clear when she will resume her official duties.
