Polcanova wins against world no. 7 Sofia Polcanova

European table tennis champion Sofia Polcanova celebrated a valuable victory against local hero Shin Yubin on Thursday in Incheon, South Korea, at the Champions Event with prize money of 300,000 dollars with a 3:2 (-8,-12,7,7,5)! 

Following her success against the seventh-ranked player in the world, Polcanova will play Brazil's Bruna Takahashi in the round of 16 on Friday morning (local time). The top 32 players in the world rankings have qualified for the tournament, Polcanova is number 23.

At club level, the men's team from TTC Wiener Neustadt will enter the highlight of the club's history so far on Sunday, the Final Four of the Champions League. Their opponents in Saarbrücken will be Borussia Düsseldorf from 1 p.m. The German record winner of the competition with record European champion Timo Boll is clearly the favorite.

"We will give 150 percent at the table, prepare ourselves perfectly and then try to deliver one or two surprises against Timo and Co.", said Wiener Neustadt's president Franz Gernjak.
