After a thriller in the third semi-final against Sokol/Post (3:2), the Innsbruck women's volleyball team is fighting for the AVL title and can make the perfect season a reality after winning the Supercup and Cup. However, TI-Volley will not start for another three weeks.

After the first two sets in the decisive third semi-final match between TI-Volley and Sokol/Post, TI manager Michael Falkner and the 800 fans in the USI Hall did not look happy. 0:2 and then already 3:5 down in the third set. But the Supercup and Cup winners turned the game around and were jubilant after winning 3:2 to reach the final.

"The key to success was Martyna Walter. You could see why she is the captain," said Falkner. The 26-year-old reassured her nervous team-mates: "We started 2-0 down again, just like in Vienna. I tried to calm things down so that we could regain our composure." They succeeded: With a better service performance, the pressure on the Viennese team was increased, the reception started to swim - and TI won the series 2:1.

Final only in three weeks
Because two players from Linz-Steg are playing in the European Championship qualifiers, the best-of-five final will not begin until April 17 in Innsbruck. Marty and Co. have fond memories of home games against Linz. "We've only lost the Golden Set in the European Cup. We're a force at home and it's so much fun with our fans behind us," says the outside attacker happily: "The treble is now the big goal!" But before that, they will enjoy the three-week break and want to recover well: "The season is already long."

Only then do the TI girls want to celebrate properly. Preferably together with the men from Hypo Tirol, who cheered them on in the semi-finals. At least the first final match will also be played as a double event with the men.
