At Voestapine, it’s now time for the big armchair shift

In Linz and Leoben-Donawitz, work is in full swing at Voestalpine on the construction of electric arc furnaces, which will make steel production greener. Apart from this, the Group's Management Board is also undergoing massive restructuring: As of Monday, April 1, half of the managers on the executive floor will be new. There will also be a novelty.

A woman on the Management Board for the first time
As of Monday, April 1, this picture will no longer be current. Three new managers will join the Management Board at the turn of the month: Gerald Mayer, head of AMAG until the end of 2023, succeeds long-term CFO Robert Ottel, who did not wish to extend his contract. Reinhard Nöbauer becomes Head of the High-Performance Metals Division, succeeding Franz Rotter, who is retiring. And for the first time in the history of the Linz-based steel group, there is a woman on the Management Board: Carola Richter!

Eder expects "new impetus"
The German has worked for BASF for more than 20 years, most recently in Singpapur. On April 1, she will take over the Metal Forming Division from Peter Schwab. Voestalpine Supervisory Board Chairman Wolfgang Eder raves about her experience with international challenges, her expertise and expects the manager to provide "new impetus".
