Man (26) buried while working in excavation pit

On Monday afternoon, a 26-year-old man was buried while working in a construction pit in Klein-Neusiedl in the district of Bruck an der Leitha (Lower Austria). He was seriously injured and taken to the AUVA trauma center in Vienna.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 3 pm. The man from the district of Wiener Neustadt was in the excavation pit when part of the pit wall suddenly gave way. According to the police, the 26-year-old was partially buried by the falling earth.

His colleagues quickly rushed to his aid and freed him, but he still suffered serious injuries and had to be taken by ambulance to the AUVA trauma center in Vienna-Meidling.
