Women hit by car
Woman still needs hospital treatment after good deed
A serious accident claimed two seriously injured people on Friday: a 58-year-old woman tried to help another woman load bags and both were hit by a car following behind. One of them is still in intensive care. The police investigation is ongoing.
As reported, a good deed ended with nasty injuries on Friday evening in Garsten. Because a local woman (52) had been walking along the roadside with full bags, a woman from Ternberg (58) stopped her car. When the two women tried to stow the bags in the trunk, they were "shot off" by a 50-year-old driver. Both women were seriously injured and taken to Steyr Hospital.
No alcohol involved
"One patient has since been transferred to the normal ward. The other still has to be treated in our intensive care unit," was the response to a Krone inquiry on Monday. Meanwhile, the investigation into the course of the accident is ongoing.
"We are still waiting for the final report from the police," explained Andreas Pechatscheck, spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Steyr. Only then will it be possible to say whether there will be any legal repercussions for the woman who caused the accident. It is now certain that the woman was not under the influence of alcohol.
