Already the fourth final for a dream season

The Innsbruck women's volleyball team has already won the Supercup and the Cup - now the decisive third match of the semi-final series against Sokol/Post is about making it to the AVL final. TI coach Rogelio Hernandez wants to remind his team of their successes.

The TI women have already added a whole book of successes to their club history - the "miracle season". In the third and decisive semi-final, they want to write the next chapter in the 2023/2024 success story and also reach the AVL final. They narrowly missed out in Vienna on Saturday, but captain Martyna Walter and Co. want to advance at home in the USI Hall (8 p.m.).

Miracle accomplished
"It's practically the fourth final for us this season after the Supercup, European Cup and Cup. I want the team to remember everything we've achieved so far - it's already a miracle season for us," said coach Rogelio Hernandez: "There's a good reason why we're here at this point. We just have to close our eyes and be aware of it."

After all, Innsbruck are the best team in Austria over the whole season, have two outstanding scorers in Marie Nevot (Fra) and Rozalia Hnatyszyn (Pol) and a great team spirit.

AVL women's semi-finals

• Tuesday, March 26: 3rd game: TI-Schuh-Staudinger-Volley - Sokol/Post (8 p.m., USI-Halle).
• Played so far: TI - Sokol 3:0, Sokol - TI 3:2.

The Tyroleans lost to Sokol/Post in Vienna in the fifth set after coming back from 2-0 down. "The big advantage in the third match is the home advantage. I hope the hall is full and we have a great atmosphere," said coach "Roe". However, the Viennese are a strong opponent and have strengthened their squad with two new players.

Making history
TI-Volley won the first semi-final match 3:0 a week and a half ago. Reaching the final would be the icing on the cake of a phenomenal season. "You don't achieve that every year. We have the chance to make history - and we'll definitely be ready," said the Italo-Cuban Hernandez.
