Former boxing world champion passes away at the age of 43

Boxing is mourning the loss of a former world champion. Alesia Graf has died at the age of just 43, the cause of death is not publicly known.

Graf was born in Gomel (Belarus) in 1980 and became a German citizen in 2008. Her WIBF world title marked the greatest success of her career; her last fight was against Dina Thorslund in 2019. She was defeated by the Dane.

"I am shocked and stunned. You were not only a training partner and world champion, but also a friend. 43 years - far too young to go," said her long-time companion Regina Halmich on Instagram.
