Smoke at e-charging station caused a moment of shock

Fire alarm at an e-charging station in Tyrol on Sunday evening! A passer-by had raised the alarm due to heavy smoke. Fortunately, the fire department did not have to intervene. However, the affected charging point was closed until further notice.

At around 5.30 p.m., a witness reported heavy smoke at an e-charging station near the OMV filling station in Nassereith. Several cars were parked there charging their batteries. "When the Nassereith volunteer fire department and police patrol arrived together, the vehicles had already been removed," said the police.

Technical fault suspected
However, there was still heavy smoke coming from a rectifier box, but no flames were visible and the smoke quickly subsided. "The system then went into fault mode and was monitored by the fire department - but no further smoke was produced," said the executive. The police assume that a technical fault was responsible for the smoke.
