Patrice Aminati
Open words about her agonizing cancer treatment
In a moving Instagram post, Patrice Aminati, wife of TV presenter Daniel Aminati, has opened up about the agony of her recurrence of cancer.
"What I didn't know was what horrific side effects this treatment would bring. There's nothing to sugarcoat here," she wrote on Instagram. "I know that there are sufferers who are just like me - others are a little luckier. I lost my sight and hearing from the pain." In this pain, she almost lost her humanity. "I have changed because of it."
"I want to live. Just live"
Despite her great fear of the side effects, the therapy will continue "when the side effects subside", said Aminati. However, she is grateful for the therapy. "Because I want to live. Simply live. My little, sweet life." Life has never seemed "so precious, so worth living" to her.
Unimaginable pain
She also expressed her gratitude for the encouragement she had received and asked for forgiveness for not being able to respond immediately. She did not yet feel able to do so.
"Those affected know that it's bad when someone with cancer doesn't speak up, when they are silent, when they remain silent. I've been through a difficult time. With pain that was unimaginable for me," she wrote. Alongside the words, she also posted photos from her treatment period.
Only recently, Daniel Aminati ("taff") addressed his fans with a moving message in which he reported that metastases had formed in Patrice - after doctors had assumed in the fall that the cancer had not spread.
In April last year, Aminati canceled an upcoming reading tour to be there for his sick wife. The couple have a child together, who was born in summer 2022.
