Disruptive action by opponents
Innsbruck: 4 arrests at anti-abortion demonstration
Four people were arrested at a demonstration against abortion in the city center of Innsbruck on Saturday. According to the police, "small groups or opponents" of the so-called March for Life attempted to "disrupt" the gathering.
In addition to the four arrests, there were also two charges and 19 identifications, the police reported. Around 200 people took part in the demonstration.
Two police officers injured
Even before the demonstration had set off from Domplatz, a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested for attempted resistance to state authority and an assault on a police officer. Two police officers were reportedly slightly injured. Two other people were arrested for, among other things, disorderly conduct.
Around 80 police officers were deployed to monitor the gathering.
