Mountain rescue in the Kufstein district: Mayr instead of Schneck
The Tyrolean rescue organization underwent a long-planned change. There were also changes at the Kufstein branch.
The new elections of the Tyrolean Mountain Rescue Service at state level in May cast their shadows ahead. Hermann Schneck from Wörgl, who led the rescue organization in the Kufstein district for a total of seven years, stepped down from his position. "We planned this a year ago," says Schneck. The 58-year-old cites the changes in the regional management as one of the reasons for his resignation. The experienced mountain rescuer and former long-time dog handler will, of course, remain with the Wörgl branch.
Promoting cooperation
His successor comes from the Wildschönau, from the Auffach branch. The 27-year-old Andreas Mayr takes over the agendas. Gerald Schittmayer will be his deputy. The passionate mountain rescuer and mountaineer hopes to build on the foundation laid by Hermann Schneck. "Cooperation with the local offices and the other districts is extremely important to me," emphasizes the 27-year-old.
Generation change
There is also news from the Kufstein branch. Following the disagreements in connection with the former Steinerne Rinne dual alert area, a new board has now been elected and a generational change has been initiated. Gerald Radlherr remains head of the local branch.
