A 58-year-old driver stopped on the main road in Garsten to help a pedestrian (52) on the side of the road with her bags. A following car driver overlooked the two women...

The two women standing on the road were hit and seriously injured by the following car. Previously, the 58-year-old woman from the Steyr-Land district had stopped in her car to help a 52-year-old woman, also from Steyr-Land, who was walking on the side of the road. At the time of the accident, the two women were loading the 52-year-old's bags into the trunk of the car, according to the police.

Another person willing to help
When the two then went to the rear of the 58-year-old's car on the Eisenstraße in the municipality of Garsten to load the bags, a following driver also stopped in his car and offered to help. After the two women refused, the man wanted to go back to his car.

Driver overlooked women
At this moment, another car followed. According to the police, the 50-year-old driver from the Steyr-Land district overlooked the women standing on the road and hit them both. She then crashed into the rear of the 58-year-old's car.

The two women suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen Hospital in Steyr.
