Young driver without a “license” fled from police

When a young driver saw the police officers in Winklern (Carinthia), he sped off at excessive speed. Shortly afterwards, he hit and damaged a parked car. But these were not the only offenses.

Late on Tuesday afternoon, the teenager saw the police patrol and accelerated. Too much gas. A short time later, he hit a car parked in a parking lot with his car and severely damaged it.

Driver fled on foot
The driver fled across a meadow, gravel pit and forest road - but this ended in the forest. The driver and co-driver then fled on foot, hid in the rough terrain and thus avoided the announced breathalyzer test.

National Socialist lettering discovered
There was probably a good reason for the escape: The 16-year-old does not have a driving license, the car is still registered to the previous owner, the license plates are from another vehicle and National Socialist lettering was discovered in the car.

However, the teenager handed himself in to the Winklern police that same evening. He confessed to the crime and will be reported to the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt and the district authority in Spittal for numerous criminal and administrative offenses.
