A heartfelt wish fulfilled
One last trip to the zoo with the hospice mobile
The Salzburg Red Cross made it possible for terminally ill Anna to fulfill a great, perhaps last wish. A visit to Salzburg Zoo and a walk afterwards
Anna worked in the healthcare sector for many decades. A diagnosis in February turned her entire life upside down, with only a few months left according to the doctors. On the palliative care ward, the woman from Flachgau expressed one last wish, which has now been granted.
Together with the Red Cross's Heart's Wish Hospice Mobile and the helpers around Kurt Waldhör, the 66-year-old spent some wonderful hours at Salzburg Zoo and Hellbrunn Palace Park on Saturday.
Dependent on donations
"It was, as so often, a wonderful but also very moving excursion. We could see the joy in Anna's eyes when she saw the animals at the zoo. We are delighted that we were able to fulfill her heart's desire," says Kurt Waldhör.
The Red Cross Heart's Wish Hospice Mobile and its helpers are on the road several times a year to fulfill such wishes and similar cases. Only donations make it possible to fulfill these often last, big wishes.
