Pedestrian hit on a pedestrian crossing in Liefering

A car hit a person on a pedestrian crossing in Salzburg-Liefering on Monday. It is still unclear how this happened. The pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol.

A traffic accident happened on Monday evening in the Salzburg district of Liefering: a pedestrian was hit and injured by a car while crossing a safety path. An emergency doctor treated the injured man. He was then taken to the university hospital by the Red Cross. A breathalyzer test showed that the driver of the car was not under the influence of alcohol. However, the pedestrian had a blood alcohol level of 0.72 per mille. The reasons for the accident are still being investigated.
