Austria's progress in handball is currently impressive. In January, they sensationally finished eighth at the European Championships, two months later the ÖHB team narrowly missed out on an Olympic ticket. Sebastian "Seppo" Frimmel, a key player, takes his place in "Handball - Das Magazin" this week. He himself is proud of the team's development, but still sees room for improvement. "We don't want to remain a flash in the pan," emphasizes the Hungarian legionnaire in an interview with krone.tv presenter Martin Grasl.

Special team spirit and a compatible coach
The euphoria can be felt not only among the handball fans, but above all within the team. The positive approach helps the team to surpass itself and bring major nations to the brink of despair. Another factor is Ales Pajovic. The Slovenian has been coaching the team for almost five years, creating an atmosphere in which the players feel comfortable. "He knows us well and knows what we need," says Frimmel, giving the national team coach the benefit of the doubt.

World Cup play-off against Georgia, further development at Szeged
The Austrian national handball team's next matches will take place as part of the World Championship play-off against Georgia (8 and 12 May). "I'm happy to accept the role of favorite," says Seppo Frimmel, spreading optimism in advance, but also knows that the European Championship participant should not be underestimated. Away from the national team, Frimmel earns his money with Pick Szeged. The former WESTWIEN player has developed enormously at the Hungarian top team. "At the beginning, I felt like I was playing a different sport," smiles the left winger. The national team's number 20 obviously seems to have chosen the right career path. Against Veszprem, it's all about supremacy in our neighboring country in three competitions (league, cup and Champions League). "Unfortunately, they are usually ahead by a nose," explains Frimmel, who will be fighting for all the titles. Watch the entire interview with the national player in the video!
