Drunk driver crashes her car into a bridge railing

Serious traffic accident on Sunday evening in Lebring in southern Styria: a 32-year-old woman crashed her car into a bridge railing. A breathalyzer test was positive.

At around 7 pm on Sunday, the Lebring-St. Margarethen fire department was called to a traffic accident. A car crashed into the sidewalk railing at the Kiessnerweg railroad underpass. The 32-year-old driver had presumably lost control of her vehicle due to excessive speed.

The car had become so wedged in the bridge railing that the fire department first had to cut off the railing using a grinder. The driver and her passenger were injured in the accident. The 32-year-old woman tested positive for alcohol. She will be reported to the public prosecutor's office in Graz and the Leibnitz District Court.
