New buying guide for high-quality organic products

A new guide is now available for conscious consumers. It lists more than 150 organic farmers in Burgenland who market farm-gate products.

Despite the extensive range on offer in supermarkets, more and more consumers are looking for new ways to source high-quality organic food. The new Bio Austria shopping guide is here to help. It lists more than 150 addresses of organic farmers. The range extends from meat, eggs, milk, vegetables and fruit to wines and schnapps.

"The new organic shopping guide is a guide for conscious consumers who value high-quality organic food and at the same time appreciate the connection to the people who produce these products with dignity and respect," explains Vice Provincial Director Astrid Eisenkopf. This is a step towards a more sustainable future.

Connecting consumers and organic farmers
In the shopping guide, consumers can find contacts for direct marketers as well as useful information on food labeling and inspection and general organic knowledge. Farmers' markets and sales outlets, a seasonal calendar and information on food storage are also listed. "The connection between consumers and organic farmers is of crucial importance for sustainable and healthy food production," says Bio-Austria-Burgenland Chairman Franz Traudtner. The buying guide will strengthen this and promote awareness of the diversity and quality of products in the region. "We hope that it will also help to increase appreciation for the hard work of our organic farmers," says Traudtner.
