At the Posthof Linz
Turbobier: Up close and personal with fans at “Pogonaise”
One of Austria's busiest musicians filled the Posthof in Linz to capacity: around 1200 punk and rock fans came to celebrate the Austrian premiere of his new Turbobier show with entrepreneur, doctor, author and beer party founder Dominik Wlazny aka Marco Pogo.
The 37-year-old is still looking for members for the beer party so that he can run in the National Council elections in the fall. However, Pogo did not drum up any publicity in Linz.
Only once did his enthusiastic fans see him "statesmanlike" in a jacket and shirt. And that was during the song "Nobel geht die Welt zugrund". Otherwise, after eleven previous appearances in Germany, Switzerland and the day before in Prague, the multi-talented artist played the role of a punk rocker.
On the island
Pogo proved his "closeness to the people" when he was carried around the Posthof on his hands and sang "Servas Adios" in a circle of chairs. During "Insel muss Insel bleiben", he floated through the hall on the hands of the audience on a yellow plastic island. Before he said goodbye to the stage with "Arbeitslos durch den Tag", he asked the fans to dance the "Pogonaise". Naturally, the crowd joined in.
