Lustenau started the qualifying group with a point

Austria picked up a point in "Lustenau", despite playing away against BW Linz. Andreas Heraf and his team thus remained undefeated for the third game in a row.

Nothing new in the relegation battle. As all three games at the start ended in draws, there were no changes to the starting position. Lustenau therefore remain bottom of the table, but at least achieved the minimum goal with the 0-0 draw in Linz. Almost more importantly, WAC scored a late equalizer against WSG Tirol to keep the Silberberger team within touching distance.

For Lustenau midfielder Paterson Chato, the goalless draw was fine. "We're happy to take a point as it wasn't easy to play here. All in all, it was a fair result." The German himself had a great chance to open the scoring in the 63rd minute, but failed to beat BW Linz keeper Nicolas Schmidt from point-blank range.

At the other end, Strauss missed the "lucky punch" for Linz with a header (88'). Grujcic, Bobzien and Diaby failed to put the ball in the net before the break. Domenik Schierl in turn prevented the home side from taking the lead with a brilliant save from Gölles shortly before the break.

Away in Lustenau
The biggest curiosity was probably that Austria played their away game in Lustenau. This is the name of the Linz district in which the newly built Personal Hofmann Stadium is located. The Austria fans who had traveled with them really did create the atmosphere of a home game and were rewarded with a point. This was Linz's ninth game in a row without a win, while Austria have now gone three matchdays without defeat.
