Lack of fire protection
Old AUVA headquarters has been empty for years
The former AUVA headquarters in Brigittenau is a derelict building. But what will happen to the old headquarters?
The striking towers of the old AUVA headquarters at Adalbert-Stifter-Straße 65-67 can be seen from afar, but the former headquarters has been empty for four years now. The building was said to be inefficient and outdated, and not up to date in terms of energy technology.
The employees also had to relocate due to safety regulations that were no longer valid. Also because the fire protection was not state of the art. The modernization alone would have cost tens of millions of euros. So the AUVA headquarters had to move into the Twin Towers on Wienerberg. This will continue to be the case until 2030. And after that?
"The aim is to bring the main office and the Vienna regional office back together in a building owned by the AUVA in close proximity to the Vienna Meidling Trauma Center," is the response to a query. So only an interim solution. And what will happen to the ruined building in Brigittenau? There is no public search for interested parties. Therefore, no information is available. So the eyesore remains.
