Things are looking bleak for Dornbirn in League Two. So the derby in Bregenz comes at just the right time for the Rothosen. Coach Gerdi and his team will be looking for a sense of achievement in the clash with their local rivals. Playmaker Gabryel Monteiro returns to his old workplace.

"You can imagine what's going on in the minds of our players. We haven't won a game since September," said Dornbirn coach Murad Gerdi, who will be on the sidelines for the first time since Roman Ellensohn stepped down as coach together with sporting director Eric Orie in the derby in Bregenz on Sunday. "We finally need a sense of achievement. And a derby can be just the thing."

Because things can hardly get any worse for the Messestadt team this season. At least if you look at the table. That naturally depresses the mood, admits Gerdi. But the Rothosen want to fight against it, they are not yet relegated. "We have to give it our all against Bregenz. There's no plan A or B in a game like this," he says, "we need a can opener, we have to score the first goal once."
