Eder 28th in dominant Bö sprint victory in Canmore
Austria's biathletes did not finish in the top field in a dominant sprint victory by Johannes Thingnes Bö in Canada on Friday. Simon Eder finished 28th as the best ÖSV athlete in Canmore.
World Cup leader Bö came out on top in superior style with no misses, more than a minute ahead of Italy's Tommaso Giacomel and his brother Tarjei Bö. The Norwegian is therefore also the heavy favorite in the pursuit on Saturday (22:10/live ORF Sport +).
After a mistake, Eder starts the race 2:38.2 minutes behind Bö. David Komatz lost 2:56.3 minutes over the 10 kilometers and did not make it past 40th place. Dominic Unterweger, who also made no mistakes, also made it into the pursuit in 48th place. For Johannes Thingnes Bö it was the 74th World Cup victory of his career. His older brother Tarjei is already 92 points behind in the overall World Cup, but at least secured the small crystal globe for the sprint discipline classification.
