Fleeing after collision: Manhunt for skier

Police are currently on the lookout for a skier in the Tyrolean Zillertal: the unidentified man fled the scene on Wednesday after a collision with a German woman (66), who suffered serious injuries.

The serious accident happened at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Penken ski area. The 66-year-old from North Rhine-Westphalia and another skier collided on blue piste number 28.

To hospital by helicopter
The woman fell and sustained serious injuries. After first aid on site by the piste rescue team, she was flown to Schwaz District Hospital by emergency helicopter.

Other skier continued skiing
"The second skier involved continued his journey after the accident without disclosing his details", according to the police. The investigators are now looking for possible witnesses or hope that the fugitive will come forward of his own accord.
