Atletico Madrid had an evening to forget against FC Barcelona. The Catalans dominated the game and won 3:0 in the end. Barca striker Robert Lewandowski in particular showed his form.
FC Barcelona have moved into second place in the Spanish soccer championship. After the defeat of Girona the day before, the Blaugrana won 3-0 at Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening to overtake the surprise team of the season so far. Nevertheless, there should be little to shake Real's title win. The Madrilenians have an eight-point lead over their closest rivals.
Joao Felix (38) gave Barcelona the lead in Madrid against his former employers. Coach Xavi was shown a yellow card before the break after criticizing the referee and was sent to the stands. Undeterred, Robert Lewandowski (47) and Fermin Lopez (65) scored to give the visitors victory.
