The thriller surrounding the listed White Horse Inn in Gries am Brenner in Tyrol could yet come to a happy ending. There is movement between the owner, the municipality and the heritage office. Surprising things have also happened in the building, as the owner confirms. 

For a long time, it seemed as if the listed Weißes Rössl in Gries am Brenner was on the brink of ruin after the roof was destroyed by fire. The heritage office, district authority (BH) and owner were unable to agree on protective measures. The prescribed emergency cover is still missing.

Everyone sat at the same table
Important things have happened at another level in Gries. The municipality, architects, conservationists and owners have recently discussed solutions for the centuries-old building with the remarkable Prachensky parlor. Mayor Karl Mühlsteiger and Rössl owner Andreas Vogelsberger speak of a positive mood. Both emphasize that ideas are there and that all sides want to get involved "as far as possible". 

Owner had the parlor expanded
Owner Vogelsberger also surprises with an announcement: "The Prachensky parlor has already been renovated and secured by a specialist." The extent to which the parlor, designed by the well-known Tyrolean architect Wilhelm Nikolaus Prachensky (1898-1956), has suffered from water ingress remains to be seen. It is also still unclear when the urgently needed cover will be installed.

There are still many unanswered questions. Nevertheless, things are moving in Gries. Mühlsteiger: "I'm confident that we can do something good together."
