1 per mille drunk
Greek man drove over traffic sign in Elsbethen at night
A broken traffic sign in Elsbethen caught the attention of the police on Tuesday night: the officers found the culprit just a few meters away. In Golling, an 18-year-old was speeding through the roadworks on the A10 at almost 160 km/h, while a driver (23) was driving on the A1 without a license.
A police patrol noticed a damaged traffic sign as they drove through Elsbethen at around four o'clock on Tuesday night. There were license plates and vehicle parts on the traffic sign. The police launched a manhunt and found a car parked on the pavement and cycle path near the Elsbethen fire station. The driver was still there. It was a 39-year-old Greek man who was drunk (1 per mille). He admitted to driving over the sign. He will be charged.
The police caught a speeding driver on the A10 on Monday: an 18-year-old from Pongau was traveling at 135 km/h in the 100 km/h zone. In the roadworks area near Golling, the man was even speeding twice as fast at the permitted 80 km/h! The probationary driver's license holder was not allowed to continue driving.
Because the police caught a man (23) from Germany behind the wheel on the A1 with a cell phone in his hand, they stopped his car. When asked for his driver's license, he stated that he had lost it. In fact, the 23-year-old no longer had one. He was not allowed to continue driving and was reported to the police.
