Women at trial: “Gigolo should be behind bars”

A charmer, but also an impostor and alleged rapist - the activities of a 43-year-old man living in Tyrol are now being investigated in court. Several women attended the trial at the district court.

Silz district court, Monday morning: several women are waiting in the corridor and recount their horror experiences with the accused. Then some of the 43-year-old's activities are heard in courtroom 1.

Allegedly many talents
As a dance teacher, alleged police officer, dog squad leader, emergency paramedic, etc., he charmed women by the dozen. And allegedly did not shy away from rape. The public prosecutor's office accuses him of doing this twice to a 48-year-old woman in the Upper Austrian lake district. Something similar is said to have happened to a Tyrolean woman (26) in the Imst district last year. The man has therefore been in custody in Wels since January.

"Dance course victim" tracked down other women
The seven-time convict was brought to Silz for the trial at the district court. "He sold me training as a dance teacher's assistant for 1480 euros. A position that didn't even exist," said one witness. There had never been a "course", he had only taken her to disco evenings as a "cab dancer" and paid for it.

Found other victims on social media
The Tyrolean researched meticulously (for example on Facebook) and found around 15 other women who had had bad experiences in one way or another. Nine of them are said to have been dancing. "He also had five girlfriends at the same time at times," she says. Tenor of the women: "This gigolo should be behind bars."

Assault as "helpful security" on drunks?
The trial also dealt with an alleged sexual assault in Serfaus: As security, the 43-year-old is said to have taken a drunk Dutch woman home and groped her in the car. A friend witnessed how the woman turned up on her balcony that night completely distraught. The victim is said to live in Rotterdam and a new charge is being attempted. "She's in a bad way, she's totally withdrawn," the friend described.

Convicted due to unpaid maintenance
The 43-year-old also owed almost 40,000 euros in child support for two children. Due to two relevant previous convictions, he was sentenced to four months in prison.

The court found no intent and no intention to enrich himself in the accused fraud relating to the dance course. The Tyrolean woman must sue for her money in civil court. The 43-year-old was remanded in custody and the most serious charge, that of rape, will soon return to court.
