Anton Bruckner on a crash course with the speech bubbles

The world is colorful and drawn and full of speech bubbles: The Nextcomic Festival starts on Friday, March 15, offering a total of 12 exhibitions in Linz, Ansfelden, Traun and Steyr. And this year, the festival is building a bridge to Anton Bruckner. The highlight of the opening is a performance by Austrofred.

This year, the international Nextcomic Festival is focusing on the experience of space and sound in comics. The Bruckner Year provides the impetus for dealing with "Platsch", "Argh" and "Uggh" in the speech bubbles.

That's why the opening on Friday, March 15 (7 pm) will also be musical, as the main act at the festival center, the Ursulinenhof in Linz, is a performance by rock star Austrofred, who combines Austropop with a Bruckner performance.

Insight into the current production
On the other hand, current national and international comics are presented on three floors of the festival center. Guided tours are also offered.

On "Suuuper Saturday" (March 16, from 10 a.m.) there will be signing sessions, sales tables and you can look over the shoulders of illustrators. We also recommend the new art education program for schools on the subject of comic literature.

Festival with 11 outposts
A large mural can be admired in the Atelierhaus Salzamt and an "antology" of 32 comic artists about Bruckner is exhibited. Nextcomic will also be present with events in Ansfelden, Traun and Steyr.
