Kick in the face: Davies shows tooth mishap
Ouch! Alphonso Davies shows his damaged teeth. The Bayern player was hit in the face by an opponent's boot during the 8:1 home win against Mainz on Saturday. Afterwards, it was straight off to the dentist - who then provided relief for Bayern.
"It didn't look good," explained Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel at the subsequent press conference: "Now he's at the dentist, we hope it's not that bad."
Stubble shoe on the face
Barely a quarter of an hour had been played on Saturday when the fateful tackle occurred. Davies came into contact with Mainz player Silvan Widmer and was hit in the face by the Mainz player's stubble shoe. Davies had to be taken out of the game straight away. Some teeth were crooked, off to the dentist.
Bayern gave the all-clear afterwards: nothing is broken, everything is half as bad.
A longer break is not necessary, he should be ready to play again next week.
