Fire alarm on Saturday morning in St. Gertraudi (Kufstein district)! After a 55-year-old homeowner had lit her tiled stove, there was suddenly a lot of smoke and the wood in front of the stove started to burn. The husband (60) tried to put out the fire and then had to be taken to hospital. But the all-clear was given from there.

The sirens sounded in St. Gertraudi shortly before 9 am. A fire had broken out in a residential building. "A 55-year-old Austrian woman had lit the tiled stove and left the fireplace door open for a short time. Suddenly smoke came out of the tiled stove, kindling in front of the stove started to burn and the fire quickly spread through the living room," said the police.

No one was injured
The woman's 60-year-old husband tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire department that arrived were then able to extinguish the fire completely and had to ventilate the house. The 60-year-old was taken to Schwaz district hospital by the ambulance service. "However, he was not diagnosed with smoke inhalation," said the executive. No one else was injured either.
