Dornbirn sink deeper and deeper into the cellar

One goal conceded at Admira was enough for coach Roman Ellensohn's team to lose 1-0. Striker Renan was in the starting eleven for the first time, but had to come off after 40 minutes. To make matters worse, captain Willy Rodrigues also tweaked his thigh.

The striker, who had been convalescing for a long time, had only trained with the team for two weeks, but yesterday at Admira the Brazilian was in the starting eleven for the first time since he left Dornbirn for South Korea in the fall of 2022 and returned this winter. Renan was substituted shortly before the break, but this was planned by the coaching staff. "He can't play any longer at the moment," explained sporting director Eric Orie, "he felt good after his first outing since the injury."

A free-kick from Lars Nussbaumer missed the corner of the net and Ramon Tanque tipped the ball onto the crossbar instead of into the net. "But that doesn't help us. We can't get any results over time. It's always something," said an annoyed Orie. Because in the 68th minute, Admiran David Puczka scored from a free-kick, not quite unstoppable for FCD goalkeeper Jakob Odenahl.
