Goalie change at WAC! A test run – or more?

The WAC with a new look! After missing out on the championship round, it looks like there will be a major rotation for today's home game against Altach. Explosive: Young Lukas Gütlbauer will get his chance in goal, leaving veteran Bonmann on the bench. It remains to be seen whether this will be a "changing of the guard".

The WAC begin their "preparation" for the relegation round tomorrow against Altach (with former WAC hero Joachim Standfest on the bench!). With a change in goal: The reliable Lukas Gütlbauer (23), so far only used in the cup and in tests, may make his Bundesliga debut in the WAC dress instead of Bonnie Bonmann (30)!

Bonmann fell from all clouds
As much as Bonmann, who has had an exemplary season so far, was blindsided, Gütlbauer, who was born in Traunviertel, is naturally beaming at the chance to present himself. "I've spoken to my parents on the phone, to my grandma - I assume they'll be in the stadium on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to it!"

No thought of saying goodbye
The club (which holds options for both keepers!) is selling it as a "test run" for "Güti" - it remains to be seen whether there is more to it than that, whether they are already initiating a "change of guard" with a view to the new season, whether they want to "clear" a legionnaire's place. In any case, the rumor that Bonmann is thinking of leaving Wolfsberg of his own accord is in no way true. "I haven't spoken to any clubs yet and am happy to stay. The decision now is bitter and disappointing for me, but I want to deal with it in a sporting manner."

Talented Müller likely to start
The rotation could well be bigger! After WAC had fielded the same starting eleven three times recently, there will be a "new look" today: In addition to the fixed goalkeeper rotation (Schmid: "Has absolutely nothing to do with Bonmann's performance!"), Pascal Müller will replace the suspended Altunashvili, Diabate will probably start as well as Tom Sabitzer.

Boakye could bring in money
Behind the scenes, of course, work on the future is already underway. President Riegler had a long discussion with Schmid on Friday to fine-tune the fundamental direction: It's about the "Austrian pot", about options (including Ballo, there is an option to buy Zimmermann), how to replace impending departures.
